The party has made their way to Bryn Shander and find a local Apothecary to buy healing potions and ingredients. Dica’s Apothecary is run by a Female Elf that is middle aged. The party realized just how expensive items are due to the never ending winter. Healing potions were 100 gp and the ingredients to make them are 50 gp. However, the players have mitigated this some by using the druid abilities to grow the plants using plant growth. Nightly they will cast plant growth to make the necessary plants grow over night, harvest them, and then use their alchemy abilities and herbalism to create the potion with a DC 10 skill check. This is an ingenious idea by the players and as the DM rewarded the out of the box thinking.

After finding lodging in Bryn Shander our party headed to Easthaven. Upon reaching Easthaven and locating the Town Hall they see the execution of a man being burned at the stake. The town’s people seem joyous and revel at the burning. Afterwards they warm themselves by the fire.

Soon a woman dressed in fine furs and fur cap speaks to the party. Asking them if they could help with some local fishers missing. She explains that the man burned at the stake was a human wizard named Dzaan. His crime was killing a party of adventurers who have helped the town.

Later, the party speaks the Speaker Danneth Waylen and Captain Imdra Arlaggath, showing them the note about the Duergar meeting at the ferry. Waylen asked them to check it out and they had the liberty to kill the Duergar. He gave Fyrdinand signet ring to show they were working under the town speaker’s authority.

Once the party reached the ferry they noticed the ice by the door had been chipped away for easier access. The party snuck along and Luxen cracked the unlocked door open and peered in. They saw a map on the desk and no one inside. Luxen casts mage hand and attempts to grab the map. As they do, the Duergar Durth throws a javelin hitting Luxen. The party quickly dispatches the Durth and knocks him unconscious for questioning.
