The Yeomanry League

The Yeomanry League is an independent state located in the southwest of the Flanaess region.

History: The area was initially settled by mixed tribes of Flannae-Suel, later joined by Oeridians. These settlers developed a tradition of annual meetings to resolve disputes. Though once under Keoish rule, the Yeomanry revolted due to the kingdom’s wars of conquest, establishing a state ruled by its warriors. In -96 CY, they discussed annexation with Keoland, becoming part of the Council of Niole Dra. However, in 361 CY, they withdrew from Keoish armies, and full independence was recognized by Tavish IV over a century later. Recently, the discovery of the Passage of Slerotin has brought increased attention and trade to the region.

Government: The Yeomanry League operates as a democratic republic. Adult citizens who have performed military service or are gainfully employed have the right to vote. The executive branch is led by the Freeholder, who conducts diplomacy, negotiates treaties, and commands the military. The legislative branch consists of the Council of Common Grosspokesmen. The state is divided into five High Districts and thirty-one Low Districts.

Culture: The population is primarily a mix of Suel, Oeridian, and Flan, with significant populations of halflings, dwarves, gnomes, and elves. The military consists of spearmen, crossbowmen, slingers, and small cavalry units. Demi-humans also contribute troops.

The Yeomanry League has been devastated by the Tiamat Wars of 609 CY.
