Longspear

Longspear is a major city located in The Yeomanry League. It serves as the governmental “Seat” for one of the nation’s five high districts. Geographically, it is situated on the west bank of the Javan River, directly across from the Kingdom of Keoland county of Cryllor.

Government

  • System: Democratic Republic.

  • Representation: As one of the five high districts, Longspear is represented on the Council of Common (a 100-member body) by an elected official known as a Grosspokeman.

  • Alignment: The city leans toward Lawful Good, Lawful Neutral, Chaotic Good, and Neutral Good.

Demographics & Culture

  • Population: Approximately 7,700 residents.

  • Racial Mix: The city is diverse, housing Humans (Suel, Flan, and Oeridian mix), Elves, Halflings, Dwarves, and Gnomes

  • Languages: Common, Keolandish, Halfling, and Elvish.

  • Religion: The populace worships a wide array of deities, including Phaulkon, Heironeous, Kord, Fharlanghn, Zilchus, and others, alongside the Halfling and Dwarven pantheons.

Economy

Longspear functions as the primary trading center for the Yeomanry. It acts as the main destination for the nation’s excess goods and welcomes foreigners freely. A significant amount of commerce is conducted here, particularly with their closest neighbor, the Yeomanry’s closest neighbor.

Military & Defense

The Yeomanry maintains a robust military presence in Longspear to protect against incursions from the nearby Dreadwood.

  • Forces: The army consists of polearms, spearmen, crossbowmen, slingers, and small cavalry units.

  • Demi-human Support: The population contributes specific units, including Elven bowmen and spearmen, Dwarven mailed foot soldiers, and Halfling light troops.

  • Threats: While local elves and Keoland forces work to keep the Dreadwood clear, it remains dangerous. It is suspected that the Sea Princes collude with bandits and humanoids to use the forest as a “highway” for raiding Longspear and southern Keoland.
